Publication of BBLC tariffs for gas year 2022/2023 and capacity available for sale via Implicit Allocations from 20th of May 2022 onwards

18 May 2022

BBLC has announced its new tariffs for the upcoming gas years 2022/2023 and beyond which apply to Forward Flow (NL to UK) and Reverse Flow (UK to NL) capacity products offered via PRISMA and via Implicit Allocations.

As the BBL pipeline is integrated into the TTF market area, BBLC is able to offer a competitive and straightforward way of transporting gas between NBP (UK) and TTF (Continent) and vice versa. By having a direct entry/exit system in the TTF market area that includes the Dutch GTS network points the barriers to trade between the two most liquid hubs in Europe are minimized and makes arbitrage between these markets very easy.

For sale

The capacity offered by BBLC will be available via Implicit Allocations from Friday 20th of May 09:00 CET until Wednesday the 1st of June 2022 COB prior to the publication date of the annual PRISMA auction. Seasonal, quarterly and monthly unbundled capacity products will be made available for a maximum of the next 8 seasons, 8 quarters and 8 months. BBLC will offer 50% of BBL’s technical capacity through Implicit Allocations for its reverse flow products and 50% for its forward flow products. An overview of this can be found at BBLC’s website at the bottom of this page (Downloads). For more information on Implicit Allocations, please get in contact with our broker partner Cavendish Markets BV.

Publication Multipliers

Together with the publication of the reserve prices for the annual yearly capacity auctions, BBLC has published the starting multipliers for all non-yearly capacity products for the upcoming gas year. BBLC can adjust reserve prices derived from these multipliers taking into account the minimum notification periods.

Conditional Firm Reverse Flow

From October through March of every gas year, BBLC offers its Reverse Flow capacity as Conditional Firm product. When certain criteria are met, BBL Company will treat the Conditional Firm products as Interruptible products. These criteria mean that, if within this time frame the BBL pipeline is in the Forward Flow direction and the UK domestic gas demand is higher than 185 million m3/day, Reverse Flow Nominations may be interrupted when the total of Reverse Flow Nominations is higher than the total of Forward Flow Nominations.

Credit limit shippers

BBLC would like to point out the importance of creditworthiness of shippers. Please check your PRISMA accounts and make sure everything is in place to enable you to book capacity at BBLC. See our credit protocol for more details, Exhibit B to the general terms and conditions. If you do have any questions regarding your credit limit, please contact: [email protected].

Commodity charge

For both Forward and Reverse Flow capacity products, the commodity charge will be calculated daily. More information on this topic can be found here.
