Implicit Allocations

The Implicit Allocation Mechanism (IAM) gives BBL Shippers the possibility to obtain unbundled BBLC transmission capacity in combination with a commodity trade at a European gas hub. BBL Company (BBLC) has developed in collaboration with PRISMA an Implicit Allocation Mechanism (IAM) platform, which gives BBL Shippers the option to choose from multiple brokers to obtain such BBL capacity on a first-come, first-served basis. BBLC is allowed to offer up to a maximum of 90% of BBL’s technical capacity through Implicit Allocation.

IAM Features

  • BBL standard capacity products are offered besides the regular ENTSOG NC CAM auction calendar.
  • Brokers can reserve BBLC capacity products on behalf of BBL Shippers for 30 minutes. Shippers will receive a notification when capacity has been reserved on their behalf.
  • BBLC has contracted the following brokers from which BBL Shippers can choose from: Cavendish Markets, and in due course Tullett Prebon, Griffin Markets and Marex Spectron.

The IA calendar FFRF shows a rolling overview of IAM sales dates per product. Shippers who wish to buy transmission capacity through IAM must:

  • Accept the BBL Company General Terms & Conditions.
  • Contact the broker of their choice.
  • Follow the steps via this link. By following this process, you authorise a broker to book BBL capacity products on PRISMA via implicit allocation on your behalf. This authorisation does not apply to other parts of Prisma such as auctions and secondary market trading.

BBLC capacity products offered via IAM will have the same reserve tariff as products auctioned on the PRISMA platform. Information on tariffs can be found in the tariff section.
