Update on PRISMA long term Physical Reverse Flow products
The current turmoil in the UK and European gas markets has created an unstable and unpredictable situation with market signals in relation to the NBP and TTF spreads. These increases in market price volatility are likely to continue for the upcoming winter period. As a result, to enable BBLC to release capacity in line with the physical capabilities of the BBL pipeline, provide an economical and efficient pipeline system and provide the most efficient service to the market, BBLC will in the near future not be offering certain Reverse Flow capacity products, primarily for longer term periods, which might create long term commitments for BBLC for Reverse Flow and Forward Flow products at the same time. This means that BBLC will not offer the yearly Reverse Flow capacity products starting the gas year October 2022 and beyond. BBLC will also not offer quarterly or monthly Reverse Flow capacity products with a runtime between 1 October 2022 to 1 April 2023. Instead, from 1 October 2022, BBLC will inform the market on a daily basis whether or not to offer a reverse flow product for the next gas day(s). By doing so, BBLC will endeavour to facilitate the market with Reverse Flow capacity in Q4 2022 and Q1 2023. The available long term PRF capacity on PRISMA will be adjusted accordingly, these changes will not apply to the availability of Forward Flow capacity products.

Additional capacity available via Implicit Allocations
On 18th May BBLC communicated to the market the availability of 50% of BBL’s technical capacity through Implicit Allocations (IAM) for its reverse and forward flow for the upcoming seasonal, quarterly and monthly unbundled capacity products. BBLC decided to increase the available reverse flow and forward flow capacity products up to the maximum of 75% of its technical capacity. The additional capacity will be offered via Implicit Allocations from Wednesday 25th May 12:00 CET until Wednesday 1st of June 2022 COB prior to the publication date of the annual PRISMA auction. Seasonal, quarterly and monthly unbundled capacity products are offered for a maximum of the next 8 seasons, 8 quarters and 8 months. An overview of the offered, sold and available IAM capacity can be found on BBLC’s website at the bottom of this page (Downloads). For more information on Implicit Allocations, please get in contact with our broker Cavendish Markets BV. Please be informed that the office of BBL Company will be closed on 26th May due to Ascension Day. On Friday 27th May our office will also be closed.

Publication of BBLC tariffs for gas year 2022/2023 and capacity available for sale via Implicit Allocations from 20th of May 2022 onwards
BBLC has announced its new tariffs for the upcoming gas years 2022/2023 and beyond which apply to Forward Flow (NL to UK) and Reverse Flow (UK to NL) capacity products offered via PRISMA and via Implicit Allocations. As the BBL pipeline is integrated into the TTF market area, BBLC is able to offer a competitive and straightforward way of transporting gas between NBP (UK) and TTF (Continent) and vice versa. By having a direct entry/exit system in the TTF market area that includes the Dutch GTS network points the barriers to trade between the two most liquid hubs in Europe are minimized and makes arbitrage between these markets very easy. For sale The capacity offered by BBLC will be available via Implicit Allocations from Friday 20th of May 09:00 CET until Wednesday the 1st of June 2022 COB prior to the publication date of the annual PRISMA auction. Seasonal, quarterly and monthly unbundled capacity products will be made available for a maximum of the next 8 seasons, 8 quarters and 8 months. BBLC will offer 50% of BBL’s technical capacity through Implicit Allocations for its reverse flow products and 50% for its forward flow products. An overview of this can be found at BBLC’s website at the bottom of this page (Downloads). For more information on implicit allocations, please get in contact with our broker partner Cavendish Markets BV. Publication Multipliers Together with the publication of the reserve prices for the annual yearly capacity auctions, BBLC has published the starting multipliers for all non-yearly capacity products for the upcoming gas year. BBLC can adjust reserve prices derived from these multipliers taking into account the minimum notification periods. Conditional Firm Reverse Flow From October through March of every gas year, BBLC offers its Reverse Flow capacity as Conditional Firm product. When certain criteria are met, BBL Company will treat the Conditional Firm products as Interruptible products. These criteria mean that, if within this time frame the BBL pipeline is in the Forward Flow direction and the UK domestic gas demand is higher than 185 million m3/day, Reverse Flow Nominations may be interrupted when the total of Reverse Flow Nominations is higher than the total of Forward Flow Nominations. Credit limit shippers BBLC would like to point out the importance of creditworthiness of shippers. Please check your PRISMA accounts and make sure everything is in place to enable you to book capacity at BBLC. See our credit protocol for more details, Exhibit B to the general terms and conditions. If you do have any questions regarding your credit limit, please contact: [email protected]. Commodity charge For both Forward and Reverse Flow capacity products, the commodity charge will be calculated daily. More information on this topic can be found here.

Update on PRISMA auction Q3 ‘22 - credit limits
BBLC offers its standard quarterly capacity products via the auction mechanism on PRISMA, which has started May 2nd for upcoming product period Q3 2022. There could arise an aggregated demand across BBLC network users for firm reverse flow capacity, which is greater than the capacity that BBLC offers. Currently this auction faces significant surcharges, which possibly exceeds the credit limits of shippers involved in this auction. BBLC wishes to bring this matter to your attention: please be aware of your current credit limit at BBLC and check if this is still sufficient. See our credit protocol for more details, Exhibit B to the general terms and conditions. In case of any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us: [email protected].
BBL Reverse Flow capacity for May and Q3 2022
May Reverse flow product BBLC offers its standard monthly capacity products via the auction mechanism on PRISMA, starting every third Monday for the upcoming month. This month it appeared that there is an aggregated demand across BBLC network users for firm reverse flow capacity which is greater than the capacity that BBLC has to offer, resulting in an Ascending Clock Auction having entered into multiple rounds. According to the PRISMA General Terms and Conditions, in case an Ascending Clock Auction has not ended by the scheduled starting point of the next auction for capacity covering the same period, this auction will terminate, and no capacity will be allocated. The available capacity will subsequently be offered in the Day Ahead (DA) and Within Day (WiD) auctions. The final round for this monthly May auction on PRISMA is scheduled on Friday 29th April at 17:00 until 18:00 CEST. The first DA firm reverse flow auction, for products starting gas day 1st May, is scheduled on Sunday 30th April at 16:30 CEST. BBLC will also offer its available capacity for May reverse flow as a Balance of the Month (BoM) product through Implicit Allocations via our broker Cavendish Markets BV as of Tuesday 3rd May 10:00 CEST, in case of no result in the monthly auction. BBLC has adjusted the applicable DA/WiD reserve prices for May products, more information on the actual daily tariffs can be found on our website. The applicable tariff for a BoM product will be the sum of the daily tariffs. Q3 Reverse flow product On 18th April BBLC has published its available Q3 ’22 reverse flow capacity for the quarterly auction on PRISMA. In order to avoid this auction entering into a similar long term Ascending Clock Auction, BBLC has decided to adjust the price steps. The newly applicable price steps are published today on PRISMA.

Reminder: Conversion to daylight saving time 26 March 2022
On gas day 26 March 2022 there will be a switch from winter time to summer time. This means that this gas day will have 23 hours. To avoid any problems which may occur, please be aware of the following: BBL expects nominations according to the EDIGAS protocol. This means that a nomination for this gas day (26 March) consists of 23 hours in which, translated to UTC, the nomination for that day begins at 05:00 UTC (06:00 LET) and ends at 04:00 UTC (also 06:00 LET). When using ENOM with appropriate settings, this feature is facilitated when nominating for this gas day. When not using ENOM, please make sure that EDIGAS messages will have this time frame. Whenever possible, avoid sending in nominations in the period between 01:00 LET and 03:00 LET. Due to possible technical limitations, incoming nominations may be handled specially and different from the normal process and thus may introduce extra risks. We expect a nomination of 23 hours. Normally the daily amount will decrease with the same factor, so 23/24 part will be delivered, hourly quantities will stay the same. This last part depends on the delivery agreement between shippers. Take your hourly quantities into account with regard to the daily amount to be delivered.
